On a scorching summer day in 2024, I got to hang with THE DUDE himself at a San Fernando Valley record factory. He was there to celebrate the vinyl pressing of Slow Magic, his album of previously unreleased music from the 1970s. The afternoon ended with an impromptu dance party to “KONG,” a song Jeff wrote about his experience starring in the 1976 remake of King Kong.  I’m happy to report that on-and-off the screen “the dude abides.”
